Congratulations to all the winners!!!! I love this tournament!
Huge congratulations to Sabonis for winning the 11th Annual 3 on 3 Improv Tournament.
This year’s tourney had alot of crazy moments, and I’m proud of all teams involved!
Below were your finalists, ranked:
1. Sabonis
Don Fanelli, Michael Kayne, Chris Gethard
2. The Three-Man Musical
Kirk Damato, Michael Martin, Frank Spitzagel
3. According to Jim, Rory, and Craig
Craig Rowin, Rory Panagotopulos, Jim Santangeli

And a special shout out to GirlfriendsBestFriends (Alexandra Kokesh, Ryan Haney, Natasha Vaynblat). They tied with Blink 184 in the Semi Finals, and a coin toss happened. They were gracious in their loss and the offer for them to be an automatically returning team next year was accepted. We haven’t see the last of GirlfriendsBestFriends.

I can’t even tell you how special last night was to me!!
Two years ago, I came to the UCB for the second time (I had been to an ASSSSCAT in September that year, and I liked it - I had been drawn to the UCB because I wanted to see more of Amy) to watch what was described as an “Improv competition”. It was for the Three on Three finals on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
I remember the night very clearly. It was a lot of fun!
And something happened that night: I fell in love with improv. When Outlook of the Poet took the stage we laughed SO HARD that we were crying! I was going through some tough times, but seeing Jon Gabrus really going at it on stage made me want to do this! I wanted to get on stage and really REALLY just let go of everything and have a good time!
I started improv in January 2010, just a couple of months later. And I never stopped.
Last night, it was magical to be on stage along with so many amazingly talented players. We didn’t have our strongest set, but we had fun. The whole evening was fun, and relaxed, and we fell the support of everybody in the room, and all the players, which is an amazing feeling. No matter what happens on stage, no matter if you have a just OK set, they will laugh and pat you in the back and tell you “great job”. No matter what, you know these people will have your back.
Since the Three on Three two years ago, I have never looked back.
Thank you Pat Baer for being part a community that makes me so happy and for helping me bring improv into my life!
